So I just watched 'Good Night, and Good Luck,' and it was fabulous! Clooney is certainly quite the hot ticket these days - seems like everything he touches turns critically acclaimed. It's really fascinating to try to imagine life half a century ago; impossible to think that if you so much as suggested a relationship to communism in any way your job (and life!) could be threatened. The world is so different today - not better or worse per se, but just different. It's so strange how the entertainment industry has wormed its way into every facet of our lives. Gone are the days of purely journalistic broadcasting; now the newsworthy nuggets are sandwiched in between celeb gossip. Pretty freaking weird, even coming from a celebrity hound like myself. And pretty sad - I can understand how the older generation must feel like their country is somehow cheapened...
