I’m neither here nor there, really.
My head loftily meanders through those clouds
While my body is the reliant robot
Smile, laugh, tell a story, walk to work, isn’t it cold out today?
(Never mind the drifting)
And where is my heart?
Good question, where IS my HEART
(It’s not at the supermarket, that much I know!)
Maybe it imploded so it wouldn’t take up too much space
Or perhaps it’s hiding behind the bushes
Can I coax it out with a sweet treat and a promise?
Things will fall into place, everything will be fine, it’ll get better.
I can hear it now, retorting How?
Yeah, that’s when your answers fall flat like a three-day-old soda
Because you don’t fucking know.
